Crook Morris

IMG_9663We are an unlikely assortment of people who like dance, music, socialising, singing, drinking and entertaining other people.

Originally we're from the small village of Crook (just north of Kendal), but now we've drifted to the big lights and call Kendal our home, although we also have active members from Lancaster to Rookhope in County Durham and all places in between, including New Zealand!

We dance Cotswold Morris, Border Morris, Rapper and perform Mumming Plays, not only locally, but at festivals all over England, and on Crook holidays abroad.

Throughout Crook's 35 years, we've danced rapper on and off, but 5 years ago we brought the swords out of hibernation and, since then, we haven't looked back.

After winning the Open, SDU and Best Newcomer trophies at DERT 2014, we returned home in a daze. Then, for some unknown reason, we thought, 'Wouldn't Kendal be perfect for DERT?' Thus the seed to host DERT in the near future was sown.

So here we are, a few years later, picking up the baton from Medlock. Let's just hope we can fill their rapper shoes after an awesome DERT 2016!
